Meet Billie-Jean Beveridge

Hi Everyone

Today we get to know another new DT member and that is the super Billie-Jean Beveridge.

Here is a little about Billie-Jean.

My name is Billie-Jean Beveridge and I am from sunny Queensland, Australia. I am a proud SAHM to two little girls, Dakotah and Amber. I began scrapping 9 years ago after the birth of my eldest and haven't looked back since. I scrap as often as I can and I like to experiment with different styles and techniques, ultimately so long as I get to make a mess and create I am happy. My favourite things to use when I scrap, right now, would be my distressing tool, my Paints/Glimmermists/Inks, Texture Paste and lastly my 3D tape, everything else is a bonus. Say Hello to Kerryn Lawson

Hi Everyone

Today I introduce you to a super lady, Kerryn Laswon.

Here is what Kerryn has to share with us.

Hi, I’m Kerryn and I am thrilled to be a part of the team here at Scrap Africa. Thank you to Evgenia & Denise for this opportunity.

I live in sunny South Australia with my husband and our two children. My scrapbooking journey started about six years ago when my husband gave me a scrapbooking kit for my birthday to record the memories of our first family holiday. The poor man had no idea what he was about to unleash!

Over the years I have experimented with many styles and found that I don’t really fit any pre-defined mould when it comes to my style. I scrapbook in both 12x12 and 8.5x11 in whatever style suits me on the day. For me, the style I use is determined by the photos and products I am using as well as how I am feeling on the day.

I have been very fortunate in the opportunities that have come my way over the last six years but the absolute highlight was being crowned a Scrapbooking Memories Magazine Master for 2012/2013.

With that said though, without a doubt the best thing about this hobby has been the friends I have made along the way. I have formed some wonderful friendships that will outlast any of my scrapbook pages.

Meet our new DT Member - Elena Smoktunova

Hi, I'm 29 years old. I am a wife and mother of three wonderful children .I have been scrapping for 3 years, and I hope that my favorite hobby will become a major profession!

I live in Mytischi, Moscow Region, Russia.

Winners - Posage Stamp Challenge

We are ready to announce the winners of the last challenge! However, let me just say that it was really a difficult choice and the DT had a tough time! There were such lovely projects!! Thanks so much to everyone who played along, it was sooo great to see all the wonderful projects!

Sketch no.14

Hi Everyone

Happy Friday and happy 01st Feb! January whizzed by and we are already into the 2nd month of the year! It is the month of love and romance and we are looking forward to our challenge in 2 weeks time, where we place the focus on that very topic.

BUT before we get ahead of ourselves, we start the month with our sketch challenge and hope you will really wow us and be creative with this sketch. I saw some really great quotes on the net the other day and thought I would share it with you, first. I hope these quotes tickle your fancy, as they did mine! ;-)

Okay, so here is the sketch.

My name is Renata Moni Bidin.

I am Brazilian, married and mother of a 7 year old boy named Guilherme, and he is my inspiration.

I started scrapbooking after my son was born. Since then, I am in love with scissors and papers!

Now I am a SAHM and I feel so blessed to be able to spend so much time with him.

Scrapbooking for me is more than a hobby. It’s my therapy.

Of course, I love to create something memorable for my family, but I must confess, the creative process is the best part for me, because that is when I can play and have fun!

I adore trying new techniques and new products!

Challenge #13 - Postage Stamps

Hi Everyone

We have an awesome challenge for you for the next two weeks and is hosted by the lovely Jowilna Nolte. This challenge is all about postage stamps.

Use postage stamps on your layout, old, new, rubber stamped stamps, whatever you have in your stash!!

We have an amazing line-up of inspiration for you!

Can you guess who might be our Special Guest Designer this month? She is often published in Scrapbooking Memories and is on the DT for the Scrapbook Store and originally is from Upington, but now living down under???

You may have guessed, it's the wonderfully talented Marelize Frisby.

Hi! My name is Marelize Frisby and I live in beautiful Perth, Australia. I have been married to my wonderful hubby (and best friend) for nearly 23 years now and we have two teenage children, Mark (19) and Joanne (17). I am delighted and very excited to be Guest designing for Scrap Africa this month. I have a very soft spot for this challenge site as I grew up in Namibia and lived in South Africa for many years, until we moved to Australia in 2005.

I started scrapbooking in 2004, after some prompting from a friend. I have always been a crafty person and tried my hands at many crafts, from pottery to decoupage. However, I don’t think I have ever been quite as fascinated (or ‘addicted’ as my family would call it) with any other craft as I am with scrapbooking.

I am fortunate enough to have been published in Scrapbooking Memories (an Australian scrapbooking magazine) on a regular basis and have written a series of ‘How To’ articles which appeared in the magazine on a monthly basis throughout 2012. I have also been on the design team of an online store called ‘The Scrapbook Store’ since they launched in December 2009 and have been their DT co-ordinator for the last 18 months or so. I’ve met amazing people through this craft and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be involved and hopefully inspire others with my humble contribution.
