Sketch Challenge no.31

Hello Friends

Welcome to a new month and as always, we have a super sketch challenge for you. I really hope you like the sketch and will put your hand and mind to creating something for us! ;-)

For all those that are enjoying summer in the northern hemisphere, I found this amazing quote for July and thought I would share it with you.

I have lived pain, and my life can tell: I only deepen the wound of the world when I neglect to give thanks the heavy perfume of wild roses in early July and the song of crickets on summer humid nights and the rivers that run and the stars that rise and the rain that falls and all the good things that a good God gives.

Here is our new sketch.

We have a super Guest Designer today - Karin Zander - she was also a previous TOP3.  Karin is an amazing scrapper and her styling is so distinct and beautiful.  So I really was so pleased, when she accepted the Guest Design opportunity! ;-)

Here's a little more about Karin.

My name is Karin and I live in Sweden just outside of Stockholm.

I have two kids seven and eight years old. I found this sweet hobby in 2004 and have kept on going ever since. My passion for crafting just keeps on growing. I'm so honored to be guesting Scrap Africa and I hope I'll be able to share some inspiration with the wonderful team this month.

Isn't this just soft, gorgeous and oh so beautiful?!

This colouring is just wonderful.

The little metal accent as the frame for the title, is such a winner.

The distressed edges really do give it a soft and feathery look.

Perfection indeed.

The second page is just as gorgeous.

This is so very pretty and so gorgeously girlie!

Pearls and girls, certainly are the perfect match!

Again, the distressed edges are so feminine and beautiful.

Challenge no.30 - Scrap Your Stash

Hello Everyone

We have a challenge for you today, that we really know everyone can play along with!

How long have you had a certain paper sitting in your scrap room, that is just longing to be used and forever remains on that shelf?  What about those eyelets or perhaps rub-ons that aren't so fashionable anymore, that really just are waiting to be used?

I think we all are guilty of creating stashes that eventually are just waaay too big to get through! So this challenge is really a challenge to you, to get out those old papers and goodies and freshen them up!

Scrap your Stash! ;-) We really want to see all those old papers and goodies.

The challenge is hosted by Erica Houghton and what a good one at that! ;-)

We have a super special guest designer today and she is one of the lovely ladies that I am on the Design Team with at BoBunny, Ulrika Wandler. She has an amazingly fresh style and is a super creative and super nice lady! ;-)

My life is filled with scrapbooking, photography and children.

I live in Sweden, have two sons (11 and 13) and have been scrapping since 2007. I work as a police officer.

Ulrika created this beautiful and wonderful page for this challenge. It's so fresh, beautiful and the colours just so super. So yes, old products can certainly still look fresh! ;-)

"The old stuff I used are: A Jenni Bowlin diecut paper, you don't see them much anymore,some punchinella, old thickers and some grungeboard (arrows and bookplate). I also used scraps of quite old paper that I saved in my stash. And to even things out, I used a photo of new shoes that I bought last summer! The title is in Swedish and it means "New shoes".

A word from Erica:

Challenge No. 30 is all about Scrapping Your Stash! Dig deep and pull out those collections that are 3 years or older; if you're newer to scrapbooking and don't have paper older than 3 years just use your oldest paper. We'd also love to see you use some of those older products that are possibly not so "in" at the moment e.g. rub-ons, eyelets, staples, etc. Get creative, have fun, and use up some of your stash!
